Members of the National Honor Society will display high achievement in:
Criteria for Invitation
Applications will be sent to those students who meet the criteria for invitation. Students will have two weeks to apply once applications are distributed. The application includes essays about each of the four main areas that National Honor Society holds in high esteem.
Students will be asked not only about how they have been successful in the past, but how they think they can improve our school environment in the future. They will be asked to commit to the NHS rules and to the events planned for the year.
A faculty committee will be convened to review the applications and vote on whether or not to induct each applicant. Officers will be elected and begin working on the ideas that the students have presented in their application essays. An induction ceremony will be planned for the Spring. NHS inductees will remain a part of NHS for the rest of their high school experience unless they fall below the criteria for invitation in any of the areas listed above. Should this happen, the faculty will meet to discuss disciplinary action and possible dismissal from the NHS.
